Dion's Quik Marts

Dion’s, a family owned business which began in Key West in 1948, currently owns and operates 12 convenience stores located throughout the Florida Keys, Florida City, Homestead and Naranja.  Dion’s is a petroleum and lubricants jobber and carrier celebrating our 61^st year in business this year. 

Lawrence Dion, founder, has been in aviation since World War II when he enlisted in the Army Air Corps, now the Air Force.  During his service Mr. Dion flew the PT22 Ryan, North American AT6, P38 Lighting and the B17 Flying Fortress.  In the 50’s Mr. Dion bought the first of many aircraft that have been a key asset to successful operation of the Dion’s expanding business. 

Today Dion Aviation continues as a FAA approved Part 135 Air Carrier with authorization to fly on demand charters in the United States, Bahamas and Caribbean. We purchased our King Air C90 new in 2001 and have exclusively used Hawker Beechcraft, an authorized service center for all of our maintenance. Additionally our aircraft is equipped with state of the art avionics which include traffic avoidance, weather radar, terrain avoidance, GPS and a 3 axis autopilot. Our aircraft is based at Key West International Airport in Hanger 18.

Leslie Weston is the corporate pilot for Dion Aviation.  A pilot for over 19 years, Les holds an Airline Transport License and flight instructor ratings.   Les has been with the Dion family for over 13 years and has logged over 9000 hours of flight time with over 8 years flying the King Air series aircraft including the B200. He also attends Flight Safety International annually for recurrent flight training.
